Just the One

Nothing exists outside the mind.  The mind is  a living pallette lush with the many colors of perception. It is the proper tool in creating a world that is driven by the passionate guide of the master’s brush.  When we have goals or ambitions, the mind pierces into the soft bubble of its aim, coats itself in the shade of  awareness that is palpable to the vision, and manifests a new life for us to dwell in, a reality that befitting of our time.

But in order to tap into this space of creativity, a part of must dwell in the part of the mind that surrenders to the unlimited ocean of wonder.  whether it is for recreation or building a new life, a part of us must let go of what we know and hone in on  our intuitive thought process so that new thought may arise.

But just as the creation seems real, at best it is the grossest form (most expressed form) of that infinite wonder that dwells within us.  Nothing exists outside the mind.  Without the facilities to perceive everything, all there is, is an ocean of wonder and an infinite light of being. No picture. No paint. No brush. Just the One.

Path of a Seed – A Tribute to Rumi

‘Path of the Seed’

Keep moving toward the sun;
focus high, above the blinding soil,
clear away all that keeps
a seed from seeing its Light.

Grace has placed its rays
on the path of which you grow;
follow this amber jewel
to the place beyond the clouds.

Rain may pound your leaves
and push them down
around your stem,
but these are the messengers
from the One.  Receive them,
learn from them, let them
nourish your roots.

Just keep moving toward the sun,
until it pulls each petal back,
one by one, revealing
your ripened bud–
release your Self completely
into every, single, fleeting, moment
that your essence longs
to stretch itself freely
across the blue sky.

Waking Toes

These toes remind me
To keep moving.  To press firmly
And walk in confidence
Yet remain flexible
to the shifting terrain.
Some toes are hardened
With callouses,  thick like
An old buffalo’s hide
With miles of traveling
in them since birth.
Some are soft and tender,
As a baby’s cheek, warm and calm
After a morning nap; sometimes
The journey exists beyond feet
to the mind and soul alone.
But these toes, stretching out
before me, move forward; bringing
focus like the morning, as i rise
and stretch to the sky, pulling
All my waking energy
up through the One.

Possibility Breathes

Live in the awareness
That the exciting possibility
Of anything, can happen
In the blink of an eye;
Like crisp leaves, when they fall
From trees; coming home
To the smell of fresh baked
Cookies; falling from the sky,
Parachuting through the wind
Rushing up against the root;
Falling madly in Love
with an idea; growing
Up in the hunger
Of a coy pond rippling
With open mouths;
Feasting on possibility’s
Seeds falling into devouring
Soil;  giving back what
Has been received but full
And ripe with fruitful
Possibilities spilling over
Like a basket of hope;
But hope turned into action
Because possibility breathes…
Lifts us up from our knees;
Plants soft green leaves on trees,
And all that is needed
Is a clean window, harnessing
The sunlight; and a keen eye
For looking passed a glare,
To the reflection of the only one
That can add life to it all,
The only one who has the power
To feel the guiding light
Of possibility, leading back
To the only beginning
Of every experience perceived–
the awareness of One’s Self.

I am Enough

Sometimes when spring comes early
Winter tends to struggle in its farewell.

And the spring leaves that once
Bounced on sunlit youthful limbs
Are forced to bear the weight of rain

Freezing them into frozen pebbles
Encased in the rigid prison of ice.

Frozen one, i see you clearly, as dark
green eminates from your cringing heart

I see the passionate soul longing
For the One that welcomed you here

Bright orange hope shining this birth
Anew, what does the winter want

That it keeps judgment’s bitter grasp on you.
But still something deep inside stays green.

As an internal clock keeps you rooted
To the core of your stalwart tree.

Spring leaf, i see your reflection
Without the sun, our paths parrellell

I too have experienced a different
Shade of hell, molding its experience

Fusing to my being, making an illusion
Of all i was seeing. But this i no shall pass

Says the beat of my heart and the hue
That oozes from your  passionate green

When the seasons strip it all away
And this vibrational color holds its sway

I am reminded of the Source
Of my own eternal root, the yearning
of my essence, echoing the words,

i am enough.

Subtle Ego

If there is something here,
Buried deep in layers of denial,
wring it out of me, completely.

Beat me with my own proud foot
Until the wound grows tender
And bleeds me out in humility.

Dont let me leave here unfinished
With a mind full of false piety
And a suffocating heart unopened.

I can fool myself all day and not know it
But i can never hide from the graceful
eternal truth that you bring to me.

Teach me to listen beyond my own voice
Pull me in, beyond my own understanding,
Teach me to be focused and teachable.
