If Only

If only I could be,
in the essence
of your voice,
without the longing
of my thoughts.

If only I could be,
aware of this gem,
when my vision closes
to your hallowed light.

If only I could be,
kept in empty abandon
as this long uncertain road
wears beneath my feet.

If only I could just be.
Oh how free
I would truly be.

    Sweet lament.
If only she could realize the many conditions she’s setting for her happiness. If only…
This poem touches that deep place inside most of us.

    • Yes, exactly. And the paradox of wanting the unconditional state of happiness, when our own conditions are so subtly hidden from even ourselves… thank you for your comment friend! šŸ™‚
